Transactional Competence Across Teams [TCX]™

[TCX] is a certification created by Influential U co-founder John Patterson in collaboration with the co-founders of Consequential Agile. It was specifically designed to deal with the breakdown organizations face as managers seek to understand their new role as Lean-Agile Leaders. Based on the philosophical construct of Transactional Competence™, the study proved to deliver benefits far beyond the ecologies of agile practitioners. Today, the TCX framework provides functional managers with the tools needed to produce an environment with thriving teams. TCX provides a framework that empowers functional managers to come together around a common aim of working on the business rather than working in the business.

The TCX Certification Framework

Module 1

Personality and Transactional Behavior

In these sessions, we will introduce you to the sequence of exchanges necessary to complete a successful transaction.

Module 2

Transaction/Narratives Cycle

We think in story. We use story structure to organize our thinking and make sense of the world.

  • Understand the eight fundamental exchanges, their purpose, and the narratives that required to move the transaction phase into the next exchange in the cycle.

  • Understand what personalities are best suited for each phase in the exchange as well as where specific personalities are not best suited.

  • Accelerate your influence, and get to yes faster.

Most personalities are well-versed in some but not all narratives. Each personality demonstrates both assets and liabilities that can accelerate transactions or grind them to a halt.

Module 4

Team Environment Builder

At most stages, you need a great team to enact your long-term strategies, do the heavy lifting, and maintain your legacy.
